SAHM

The life of a SAHM- Stay at home mom! Does this phrase mean I will never be aloud out of the house?  Or is it just a saying? I think it has a little more meaning to it than one might think. What I have found true of being a stay at home mom.

1) Leaving the house is much harder than it looks. Bring the diaper bag, make sure you actually refilled it with diapers and wipes. Bring sippy cups and snacks(no matter how short the trip will be). Make sure all humans have gone potty before getting in the car. Check for shoes, jackets, favorite toy and shoes once more, as mine seems to take these off at lightning speed. Grab phone, grab purse, get coupons, make sure the indoor cat doesn't bolt outside again, lock the door and then its just the few steps to the car and its relax time right? Wrong! Driving to the store is filled with hundreds of questions and look Mommy's? I am surprised its still legal to drive with toddlers.

2) There is only so many ways to re-arrange the furniture in your 1000 square foot house.

3) Making dinner is kinda like groundhog day. Chicken again?? Yes kids its chicken again. That is why we have this saying "You get what you get and your don't throw a fit."

Being a SAHM is one of the best gift my husband has ever given me. It has aloud me to spend every second with my precious girls. And sometimes it feels overwhelming, I know that some Mothers would give anything to be able to do this.  For this I am blessed and thankful.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

So, it seems that Christmas time is upon us once again. I'm not sure how it came so fast but I am excited for it this year. Last year I was having lots of health problems, so to be healthy and able to enjoy the season means a lot. I wish that our family was together, this will be our first Christmas apart :( We have been married for almost 9 years and have spent 2 years of it apart. Crazy!

We just got back from visiting Daddy in Washington DC. The girls had lots of fun flying, Kallie loved it especially the turbulence, which we had an abundance of on the trip home. She hates the sound of the toilet flushing on the plane, its really loud. So bathroom breaks were a little challenging to say the least. Its not easy taking a toddler to the bathroom while holding an infant in one arm, trying not to touch anything in the gross airplane lavatory, then having to flush the toilet while the girls are not in ear shot of the noisy toilet. Thankfully we only had 4 trips to the bathroom!

While visiting Daddy we went to the museums of Natural History, American History, and the Space one (Cant remember the official name ).  I love that all these museums are FREE!

We also saw the Washington Monument, Abraham Lincoln Memorial and the White House.

We decided to go to New York since we were so close (3.5hrs.) We got our hotel booked for free, with all the Marriott rewards Ricky has accumulated. So we headed off to see the Big Apple and celebrate Natalee's birthday in NY. Let me start off with saying the drivers in NYC are probably the craziest I've ever seen. I can understand why no one drives in the city. So what were we doing? Driving in NYC. Just getting into our hotel was quite the challenge but after a few wrong turns and 30 minutes of are we there yet's we made it and never drove the car again until we left.

We went on a sightseeing tour on the double decker bus, just like in the movies. We learned a lot about the history of the city. We went to ground zero and George Washington's Church, which is now a memorial. We went to FAO Swartz and Central Park, the girls LOVED the park and it was beautiful with the changing trees. I can see why so many people come to the park to run. It's so much nicer to look at then the the brown dirt and tumbleweeds Rosamond has to offer. I think I will blame my lack of running on Rosamond's scenery.

After our trip to the NYC, we were headed to  Hershey, Pennsylvania to meet Ricky's Dad and sister Crystal and my sweet niece Ava. We went to hershey park and had lots of fun watching the girls ride the rides together, they played so well together. I wish we lived closer to them. It got pretty cold there and we all enjoyed some Hot Cocoa before heading back to our FREE Marriott rooms. ( Thanks again Marriott) We ordered pizza and had the girls had a sleep over. The next day we had a little time to kill before heading back to DC, so we went to the Bass Pro Shop. That store is amazing, they had a carousel and Santa Claus in the store which was a big hit! We enjoyed the quick visit with the Family but then had to head back to D.C.

We then had to say our good-byes to Daddy once again.

When we got back to California we had a few hard days of time zone adjustment and then it was onto Thanksgiving!! We went up to the Cabin and had a good time with the family. We did Thanksgiving crafts, ate, played games and ate some more.

And then I prepared for Black Friday :-) I sent the girls to Grandma & Papa's and off I went with 2 great girls in stow-Nichole and Jennifer. We had a great time and got some great deals. The next day was a little hard after only napping twice for 2 hours. But I managed to hit the stores again on Saturday. What can I say I love to shop, especially when I do it without spending lots of money. I am now completely done with Christmas present and birthday gift through March 2012. Now if only I can refrain from giving everyone their presents early...this is not my strongest point.

And now Myself and Ricky are the proud owners of a 1 year old!!!
It wasn't official until we had the official birthday party

Thanks for keeping up with us!

We are still Alive!

Ok, So apparently I am not so good on keeping up on this blog.  So this will be a 4 month update all in one!
I guess I will start with myself, I finally turned the big 30. And so far it hasn't been too bad, maybe its because I  have been lying about my age since my birthday :) I had a great birthday and  got some really fun gifts.

I also became a business owner, me and my sister in law are now the owners of Treasured Twice!
Its a kids consignment sale that happens twice a year. We had our first seasonal sale and it went GREAT!
It was a lot of fun and we are already working on the next sale that will take place in Spring.

Well that is enough about me, Ricky is currently deployed to Washington DC, he is working at Walter Reed Medical Center, he has been very busy with work and school. But he has made a little time to see the sights. We will be flying out to see him next week. Kallie is really excited to see her Daddy. Natalee will get to show Daddy how she can crawl and pull herself up. We are hoping she waits to walk till Daddy comes home, and if she is anything like her sister it shouldn't be a problem.

Kallie started preschool in September and LOVES it! She has the same teacher my brother and sister had when they were in preschool. Here is a few things she has said over the past few weeks:
"You didn't know I could get this biggest of boggie out in the kitchen"
"I just like corn on a big stick" (referring to corn on the cob)
"Did you see it on Facebook?"
"Can you teach me to say Hi in English?"

She is always making us laugh, and she and Natalee have their own special language.

Natalee has been growing and learning so many new things. She had learned to crawl and stand up and really likes playing with her toys. She loves food, especially sweet potatoes and squash.
She has found her voice and loves to babble, but has not found it in her to say Mommy yet :(
She now is the proud owner of 6 teeth-2 on top and 4 on bottom.

We hope you enjoyed our update

Summer Time

So we are definitely loving the summer time. Swimming, playing outside, long nights, great weather, bbqing and s'mores.
We had a good 4th of July, a small hurricane like storm came through town and wiped out power and trees and lots of firework stands. but it all cleared before the big firework show.
First 4th of July
This is how Kallie "watched" the fireworks
We celebrated our good friend Megan's big 30 birthday in July. I can remember being a kid and my parents having over the hill parties for their friends, so it seems so strange to be having them for my friends now. And it reminds me that my 30th is quickly approaching.

We started Kallie in dance class in July, it is so precious to watch little girls dance. One girl in her class last week was new and about half way through the class asked when they were gonna start dancing. It was so cute.

Well as July is coming to an end, we are excited for the big changes ahead. Ricky is heading to D.C. for a few months to work for the Air Nation Guard. Me and the girls are going to go visit while he is there and hope to make it back to Rhode Island to see the family as well. Although I am a bit nervous flying with 2 kids by myself with all our luggage and car seats and stroller and pack n play, I think I am going to look  like a crazy women.

Here are some recent pic of the girls:
